Our New Zealand season has been outstanding with all our hunters taking excellent trophies. This season our friends traveled to the South Island to hunt for giant stags in the lush rolling hills and mountain valleys. They stalked Himalayan tahr and chamois in the snow-covered, high mountain ranges of the Southern Alps. And a couple of friends even hunted ducks and geese. Our outfitter, a New Zealand hunting industry pioneer, once again provided our folks with exceptional adventures. Our friends raved about the gourmet meals, the first-class lodge, and wonderful service. New Zealand is a far-away place with stunning landscapes and kind people. This country must be explored for those who haven’t seen its majestic mountains, vast plains, fjords, emerald rivers, and amazing wildlife.
While I write this report, there are hunting parties reporting fantastic trips in Namibia, Mozambique, and South Africa. In May, my hunting buddy, Mark Villadsen from TN hunted bears in AZ and ended up taking two monsters – one Boone & Crockett record book trophy. While Mark was stalking bears, I was back in Paraguay with my Abilene pals shooting pigeons – another great trip with intense shooting. Also, three TX couples ventured to Argentina to travel all over that beautiful country…without guns. They reported wonderful tours.
If a New Zealand trip or any other adventure is of interest, give me a call.
